"I came up with the idea for this project when I came across the TED Talks. I was contemplating a kind-of creative remix giving artists a theme and timeframe for a performance when Dale Arden's voice popped into my head screaming 'Flash! I love you! But we only have fourteen hours to save the earth!' I had it: I'd give each artist fourteen minutes to save the planet.

"So far I've developed and directed three fourteen minute performances with three artists - David Hoyle, Timberlina and Fancy Chance - which were presented at the Oval House Theatre, London in March 2011. The project will next be presented at the Arts Council's Decibel showcase and, as it spreads its wings, I hope to create more pieces with other artists around the planet.

"I've also created two cinematic entr'actes with Kate Pelling and Bette Bourne and hope to create more through our supplementary workshop program."
